Cara Madden heads the corporate relations department for City Union Mission. She works with businesses and organizations in partnering with the Mission. For the last two years, she has been an active member of City Union Mission’s Funding for Stability team.
Cara has a bachelor of arts in mass media with an emphasis in public relations from Washburn University in Topeka, Kan. While attending Washburn, Cara was a guest writer for the Mass Media Messenger, the Washburn Review, the Catholic Campus newsletter, and the Crisis Pregnancy Outreach. She volunteered at the Crisis Pregnancy Outreach in Topeka and interned at the American Red Cross Capital Area Chapter doing public relations.
Upon graduation Cara worked as a media buyer for a global media services group. She also has done freelance work for national advertising companies.
Cara is a current member of KC Women’s Network, Biz to Biz Connections, Olathe Chamber of Commerce, Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce, and the Northeast Health & Safety Consortium.
Her passions include volunteering with her church and writing for the monthly newsletter. She is secretary for her son’s cub scouts troop. She is a member of the PTA and Moms in Touch International. She is also room mother. Other hobbies and interests include jogging, spending time with her two boys and volunteering for World Vision.
